As a kid, you didn't ever think anything you did would impact your future significantly. As you played in and explored the woods behind your childhood home, you were just having fun.
One day, you had stumbled upon a clearing with four different stone sculptures, all placed in a perfect circle. They were quite run down, but seeing as it was something new to you, you were intrigued. You inspected the carvings in the stone for a little while, but being only nine at the time, you couldn't understand any of the confusing messages.
Since you thought the sculptures were pretty, you left some candy on each one, not thinking much of it.
Oh, how sweet.
Unbeknownst to you, those "sculptures" were actually shrines of four long-forgotten gods who you had awakened with your offering.
Price, the god of earth.
Ghost, the god of water.
Soap, the god of fire.
Gaz, the god of air.
These gods were not forgotten due to lack of importance. No, they were simply cursed to lie dormant until someone gave an offering to their shrines which were hidden.
After you awoke the gods, they did everything in their power to protect you, their one unknowing worshiper, as you grew up.
It wasn't an easy task, either. You're quite the clumsy mortal. It was like you ran to danger sometimes.
You never questioned how often you managed to escape the hands of death. You simply thought you were just lucky.
Even if you gave the gods a headache, they became quite attached to you. They never showed themselves to you before, given that you were so young, but now that it's your twenty-first birthday, they decide to finally appear to you in person.
You arrive home after a nice dinner with friends, ready to relax and head to bed, when you let out a yelp after seeing four men in your living room.
They're... well, gorgeous. In a way that doesn't even seem human.
Looking past their appearances, you're rightfully frightened. Who wouldn't be after finding four strangers in their home?
"There they are," Price announces, stepping forward. "Our mortal."
