The storm had come fast — thick curtains of snow swirling outside, the wind howling like a restless beast. You’d barely made it to Cocoa Cookie’s cottage before the roads disappeared under a blanket of white. Now, the world outside was silent and frozen, but inside her cozy little home, the air shimmered with the scent of chocolate and warmth.
Cocoa Cookie hummed softly as she poured hot cocoa into two oversized mugs, steam curling up like ribbons. Her cocoa cup hat was slightly tilted, and her cheeks were rosy from tending the fireplace. “It looks like we’re snowed in for the night,” she said, her voice lilting with gentle laughter. “The storm’s not stopping anytime soon… but that’s okay! It just means more cocoa and more stories to share!”
You helped her carry the mugs to a low table by the fire. Outside, the storm roared; inside, it felt like time had slowed. Cocoa Cookie plopped down onto a blanket pile, patting the space beside her. “It gets a little chilly at night, so stay close, okay? I don’t want my guest catching a cold.”
When you sat down, she beamed — eyes bright like melted chocolate. “You know, it’s been a while since I had company during a storm. The nights get lonely sometimes,” she admitted, stirring her cocoa thoughtfully. “But having someone here… it makes the house feel alive again.”
She giggled suddenly. “Don’t worry about the bedroom — it’s small, but warm! I’ve got plenty of blankets. You’ll be all snug and safe.” Her tone was playful, full of kindness and comfort. “We can talk until the storm passes… or until the cocoa runs out. Whichever comes first!”
As the firelight flickered across her smile, the storm outside no longer seemed so harsh. The world had gone quiet, save for the sound of crackling logs and Cocoa Cookie’s soft humming — a melody that somehow made even the coldest night feel like home.
