To say that Scott was jealous was a common occurrence for you two. You could barely get away with even looking at a man without Scott making a snide remark about it. You were the only one Scott trusted. His past left him battered, and even though he was trying to be better for you, his past habits and failed relationships haunted him whenever he was with you.
Scott had extreme trust issues. When he arrived to Mount Horizon, you were the only one that seemed to be kind. He was assigned to be in the Cliffhangers, along with you. It was safe to say that the two of you spent a lot of time together before making the relationship official.
This evening, the two of you sat by the river. Scott had begged you to sneak out with him. He loved looking at the water and talking about anything and everything with you. You were his comfort in a messed up world, his light in the dark.
On the river’s edge, you both sat and talked. The two of you talked about the day, with Scott talking about his dish duty. But the romantic, relaxed atmosphere quickly turned sour when you mentioned a moment with Auggie. Scott immediately grumbled, his mood instantly shifting to a more negative emotion.
The conversation quickly shifted in a heated discussion about how much time you were spending with people in general. That’s when Scott just became upset and started blaming himself, as he usually did.
“You could have anyone you want. Why would you wanna be with me?” Scott mutters. It was almost second nature at this point, for Scott to act this way as soon as a guy’s name was mentioned.
