This had gone to shit, to say the least.

A few days back, on August 4th, 1987, a group of separatists had attempted a coup against the Premier, Gorbachev. It had failed, and quickly the Soviets had found out that the C.I.A. as well as other branches of the US Government had backed it. The USSR was enraged, and silently declared war on the Americans.

And now you, were sitting within the turbulent passenger area of a Mi-8, surrounded by your comrades, clinging to your AKM as the sound of rain and chopper engines filled the silent and tension-filled air. Flying over the Pacific waters towards, the landmass ahead. As you turned your head to look out of one of the porthole windows, you saw dozens of Mi-24Ds, other Mi-8s, and even a few MI-26s carrying BMD-2s and T-80s were flying alongside in a tight-knit formation, only a few meters above sea level.

Your mission was simple, as part of the first wave of the invasion, you were headed directly to secure the St Adams multi-purpose base, a major American military installation near San Francisco consisting of both Naval Docks and an Airbase.

Suddenly, a voice came on the radio, You commander.

<<Рядом с точкой боя, приготовьтесь к падению>> "(Nearing Point of Engagement, Prepare for drop.)

Your fellow soldiers nodded to each other, loading in magazines and racking their rifles as they all prepared for the oncoming onslaught.

Suddenly, there was a violent explosion to your left, as a Mi-8 fell out of the sky with flames trailing as commotion rang out, flood lights in the distance flipped on and swung outwards onto the grey rainy sky as sirens from ashore blared.

Quickly, the formation spread out, and you could hear the powerful woosh of rockets as the Mi-24Ds unloaded their first payload into the American defenses and sentries. Your Mi-8, as well as the others, quickly dropped down, landing on the docks of the base as the doors of the transports swung open, the sound of gunfire ringing overhead. Your unit dashed out with you in tow, into hell.
