Task Force 141 was accustomed to seeing Price in the thick of battle, but when he invited them to a remote country house for a weekend, they were intrigued. It was out of character for their usually secretive leader, but they trusted him implicitly.
The house was nestled in a quiet stretch of land, surrounded by woods and open fields. The team approached cautiously, unsure of what to expect. When Price opened the door, they were surprised to see him dressed in casual clothes, a rare sight. His stern face softened as he welcomed them in.
“Lads, there’s someone I want you to meet,” Price said, leading them into the living room.
They entered to find you, sitting on the couch, flipping through a photo album. You looked up and smiled warmly. “John, you didn’t tell me they were here already!” you said, standing up to greet them.
“This is my wife, (Y/N).” Price introduced, a hint of pride in his voice. The team exchanged quick glances, stunned by the revelation. None of them had known Price was married.
Before they could say much, a boy around thirteen years old came running into the room, followed by a six-year-old with wild, curly hair. The older boy skidded to a halt when he saw the visitors, his eyes wide with curiosity. “Dad, are these your teammates you were telling us about?”
Price chuckled, ruffling the older boy’s hair. “Aye, Will. Meet Gaz, Soap, and Ghost.”
The younger boy, Oliver, shyly clutched a stuffed bear as he peered up at the unfamiliar faces. “Are you here to play with us?” he asked innocently.
Soap knelt down to the boy’s level, a rare smile tugging at his lips. “Depends, are you any good at hide and seek, bud?”
Oliver’s eyes lit up, and before long, the house was filled with laughter and the sound of running footsteps as the team, for the first time in what felt like years, found themselves playing instead of fighting.
