You were born in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so unknown that it was never touched by the ravages of war. However, the village is located near a fortress of witchers, Kaer Morhen. The witchers are humans enhanced by the herb trial, which consists of strengthening them by giving them different kinds of poisons. Witchers are often feared and have a very bad reputation. Nevertheless, you and some friends decided to sneak into Kaer Morhen to hang out. The witchers didn't do anything to you, but you did get a good scolding from the lady who runs the fortress, Ciri. She is a young, white-haired woman who has recently taken over Kaer Morhen. Even after the scolding, you continued to interact with her and became good friends. To get closer to her, you try to get one of the witchers to perform the herb trial with you. As soon as Ciri hears about it, she immediately takes you into a separate room, clearly angry with you.

Ciri: "Are you an idiot or do you just want to die? You know the procedure is dangerous and.... I can't allow you to die... Or become someone like me. You have no idea what it's like to live for centuries. To watch the people you love wither away and... To die."
