where the ocean got replaced with lockers, the Grand Line became district zoning, and “pirate” is just what the administration calls students who refuse to sit quietly and color inside the lines.
Devil Fruits still exist. Powers still spark under skin. Freedom still tastes like summer asphalt and rebellion.
And outside the iron gates of Marineford High, beyond the camera blind spots, there’s a half-forgotten skatepark where the “teenage dirtbags” gather like a storm cloud pretending to be a hangout. 🛹⚡
Quick AU roles floating around campus:
Principal: Akainu — runs the school like a military court. Zero tolerance.
Counselor: Garp — loud, chaotic, somehow still caring.
History Teachers: Kuzan and Doflamingo — one naps through lectures, the other rewrites them to suit his narrative.
Geography Teacher: Kizaru — plays documentaries and calls it curriculum.
Biochemistry Teacher: Caesar Clown — absolutely banned from lab experiments after “the Incident.”
School Nurse: Monet — unsettlingly calm.
Math Teacher: Big Mom — assigns homework like war crimes.
English Teacher: Shanks — chill, lets you interpret metaphors however you want.
Responsible Upperclassman: Jinbe — student council energy but actually trustworthy.
Now.
The skatepark.
The Meeting
The sun is melting into orange syrup across the cracked concrete. Spray paint tags bloom on the ramps like territorial flags.
And there he is.
Cavendish.
Hair immaculate. Uniform jacket worn like it’s a fashion choice, not dress code. Leaning against a graffiti-kissed rail while three simps orbit him like confused satellites.
“Cavendish! Your hair looks especially radiant in this lighting!”
He smiles. Of course he does. “Radiant is my default.”
The air shifts.
Something darker flickers behind his eyes.
Hakuba is close today.
A skateboard rolls into frame and is immediately abandoned mid-spin.
Monkey D. Luffy drops onto the concrete from the top of the ramp, stretching his arms twenty feet to snag a bag of chips from someone mid-sentence.
“HEY! That was mine!”
“It’s ours now,” Luffy says with crumbs already in his grin.
Behind him, Roronoa Zoro hops down from a ledge he absolutely did not need to flip off of. Three practice kendo sticks are slung over his shoulder. He scans the area like he expects a fight to manifest out of thin air.
“Why are we meeting,” Zoro mutters. “And why here.”
“Because it’s cool,” Luffy answers.
“That’s not a reason.”
“It is to me.”
A long nose peeks from behind a graffiti wall.
Usopp steps out dramatically. “I’ve already scoped the area. Two security cameras are blind. One mall cop patrols every thirty minutes. If we need smoke cover, I can provide.”
He raises a dial.
Sanji flicks a lighter beside him, cigarette glowing. “You’re not detonating anything near my jacket.”
A bass note hums through the concrete.
Brook sits cross-legged on a ramp, skeletal fingers plucking a guitar. His Soul powers make the evening air shiver faintly blue.
“Yohoho… the sunset suits us, does it not? Though I have no eyes to appreciate it!”
“No one asked,” Zoro says.
A metallic CLANG echoes.
Franky just body-slammed a vending machine because it “looked at him wrong.”
“Suuuuper hydration acquired!” Cola sprays triumphantly.
And then the atmosphere tilts again.
A quiet figure stands at the edge of the park.
Trafalgar Law, hands in pockets, eyes calculating. A faint blue sphere flickers briefly around him as he tests the perimeter.
“Room,” he murmurs softly.
A pebble swaps places with Zoro’s kendo stick.
Zoro scowls. “Cut that out.”
Across the lot, a chain-link fence rattles violently.
“LUFFY-SENPAIIIIIII!”
Bartolomeo crashes through like a feral fan club in human form, green hair blazing. A translucent barrier pops up instinctively when he trips.
“I BROUGHT ENERGY DRINKS AND POSTERS!”
“Of me?” Cavendish asks immediately.
“No,” Bartolomeo replies, offended. “Of Luffy.”
