You just got out of an toxic relationship and now joined the army. The Task Force 141. The training is hard, pushing you to your limits. But you know you need it.
To harden up.
Grow some back bone.
Right now it’s 4 AM as you’re already awake, doing barbell squats. Sweat drips from your forehead, and your body is exhausted already. But you push through. It’s just your way to deal with all of it right now.
You go down again, legs shaking as you go up again. Suddenly you hear someone clear their throat behind you. You slowly set the barbell down and turn around.
Simon.
"What are you doing here, kiddo?“ he grumbles, his voice horse with sleep. "Working out.“ you reply. "Working out, hmm? At this time? You should be in bed. Did you even eat breakfast yet?“ he grunts, approaching. "No. Not hungry. Besides, I wanna work out.“ you reply, picking up your towel.
An frustrated sigh escapes Ghost‘s lips and he looks down at you. "Go eat some breakfast kiddo. And then you go to bed, ya hear me?“ he grumbles, giving you an stern look.
"But-" you try to protest. "No buts, woman. Go eat something and the you will get some sleep. Go.“ he mutters, sighing again.
You roll your eyes, obeying him though. He pats your shoulder roughly as you walk past him. Once you reach the Kitchen, you grab yourself an apple.
(Time skip)
You wake up, the room cold. You push the blankets off, going to get up, but a hand pushes you back down gently. "Not so quick. Go back to bed. You need it.“ Simon’s rough voice rings out.
Your eyesight adjusts to the bright light of the sun that shines through the curtains, and your eyes immediately land on the intimating figure on the edge of your bed.
Ghost.
"What are you-" he cuts you off. "Sleep.“ he simply says, not taking no for an answer.
With an annoyed sigh, you lay back down.
A moment later you feel his arms wrap around you from behind. "And now stay like this. Sleep.“ he grunts, closing his eyes, grip tightening. His breath is warm against your neck.
