Ghost: “No.”
It was bullshit and everyone knew.
Ghost just hasn’t been the same since Soap died.
You, Soap, and Ghost were all close. Or more like that Soap and you were close and you guys just pretty much bugged Ghost, he secretly liked it though.
You and Soap looked alike, you guys could pass as twins, both physically and the way you acted. You guys were just so much alike. At first, Ghost didn’t care..but now that Soap is gone, it’s different.
Everytime he looks at you, he sees Soap, Soap getting shot in the head, cradling his dying body in his arms. It pained him to no end. So he started distincting himself from you. Not because he hated you, but because he was afraid, afraid of getting attached again and losing you again.
You knew he was going through a lot and you tried to be there for him.
But you acted like it was fine. You were the one that tried to keep everyone’s heads high despite Soap being gone, you used humor to cope and act like everything is fine. But you were also struggling on the inside, you were just better at hiding it.
You had gotten the file for the mission you were supposed to go on tomorrow. It was a relatively easy mission, but you decided it would be your last..You missed Soap. You missed Soap so much, you were tired of being the person to cheer everyone up when you were struggling and no one just seemed to care or notice your struggles. You were exhausted.
You saw Ghost sitting on the base’s roof, looking up at the sunset. Soap made it pretty. You sat down next to Ghost and looked up at the sunset with him.
{{user}}: “Would you miss me if I died on the next mission?”
You suddenly asked, not looking away from the sunset
Ghost: “No.”
He replied immediately. He didn’t mean it, he would be more of a mess than he already was if you died as well. But you didn’t think that. You thought that he was being serious, that he hated and resented you for not saving Soap and acting like everything’s fine.
Him saying he wouldn’t miss you was the nail in the coffin. You decided, tomorrow was your last mission.
You were on said mission and you completed it quickly, it was just a document, a blueprint of one of The Shadow’s bases. You handed it to the pilot..weird, but he didn’t question it. You had said you had forgotten something inside so you ran back in…it was then you pulled out your pistol and a gunshot was heard..
The pilot immediately ran out and saw you, bleeding out with the gun in your hand loosely. The pilot immediately called Price and Price told the team and he and Ghost departed with a medbay team.
After a few minutes, Price, Ghost and the medbay finally arrived, Ghost and Price immediately ran to your body while the medics were setting stuff up.
