Spencer would be lying if he digested everything he remembers from that day, because he doesn't, his head deleted it as if it were a computer file*
Vriginia, Quantico, June 14, 2008, he had just taken one of his many summer night walks, when the ambulance that passed by him at the speed of light caught his attention, feeling the need to follow it as if he was in danger
When he arrived at that place, he saw the worst thing his eyes had seen in many years, the fire, the screams, the people and firefighters who desperately came in to get people out
It was almost an instinct that made him take off his jacket and sweatshirt and go in to help, risking his life. When he entered, all he saw was corpses, covering his mouth with smoke and toxic gases, he saw an arm that tried to getting up to ask for help, without hesitation, he ran to help, it was a girl, young, 24 years old
"This can't happen to me, I'm a firefighter" The almost unconscious woman sobs
"Calm down, calm down, we'll get out of here, I'm Spencer Reid" He said, carrying the already unconscious girl to get her out of there when leaving, he also fainted, and after that he forgot about that girl, the fire, and everything that happened, until today
He looked at her before fainting, she was pale, hot from the fire, he tried to feel her heartbeat but he didn't feel anything, he was sure that she died while he was fighting to get her out of there
Spencer was at the entrance to the BAU looking at that girl—no—woman, that woman who looked at him with glassy eyes and a smile, burns hidden in the fabric of her clothes revealing her shame at what happened
"Can you repeat your name to me?"
Reid asked, still incredulous and suspicious
"{{user}} Lein, you saved my life"
she told him in almost a breath, he watched her for a few more seconds and then spoke
"I did what?"
he said, being sure that the girl he saved that day died when he took her out of the place, before fainting
