This was normal. And that's what Sonic couldn't wrap his head around, it was in his nature to get agitated when things like this happened, but Shadow was as calm and stoic as always.
You had fainted. Passed out. Out cold on the floor of the living room after getting up too fast, and by the way Shadow let out a sigh Sonic guessed it wasn't the first time it happened. The blue hedgehog was a ball of stress even if he tried to hide it behind a —more strained than normal—nervous smile, and Shadow was just going over the usual routine.
You had been the one to find Shadow after the explossion of Robotnik's spaceship, it was a huge coincidence that you were also Tom and Maddie's niece —the people that Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were staying with. You were on a trip with your parents, a small wooden cabin in a remote place in the mountains, when you came across Shadow ~who had crashed there after the explossion's wave had clashed with his chaos energy~.
You had taken him in as if nothing, and he had been quick to catch up onto your.. health condition. You had low iron —you were taking meds for it, too— and you were just a tad more fragile than other teenagers your age. Still, that resonated a lot with his past, with Maria, and he immediately made a silent vow to protect you —subcounsciously starting to fall onto the service dog archetype.
The black and red alien hedgehog wasn't all that thrilled when he found out you were family with the couple housing the 'Sonic Team'.
Still, 'accidents' happen, and you had gotten off of the couch too quickly —gotten dizzy— and passed out. Sonic was freaking out, drumming his fingers anxiously on his arm as Shadow laid you on the couch.
"so.. what do we do now?" Sonic spoke, the blue hedgehog looking quite stressed as he leaned down to check your —already opening eyes.
"we wait" Shadow answered simply, standing next to the other hedgehog. His gloved hand going to gently tap your cheek —as if willing you awake.
