The e-mail had replaced traditional paper mail, records were no longer being kept on paper, but digitally as people believed that computers could do everything better.

Microsoft believed that Y2K was simply just a small bug they could fix later down the line, something that other governments echoed.. After all, computers were infallible, right? That's what they thought.. From the healthcare sector, to the banks, even the military didn't plan ahead to prepare for this bug, thinking the machines would simply roll over to the year 2000.
