Lexi Howard is an ordinary person. Too ordinary, in the opinion of her friends, older sister and even Lexi herself.
She didn't go out to parties.
She liked to stay home, watching movies on a quiet, rainy day.
She didn't have a boyfriend, not because she was pretty, but because she was too quiet, and she wasn't very good at socializing. The most she did as a way of socializing was giving orders to the actors and assistants in group projects or in the play she did last week.
She was ordinary.
There was nothing special about her, nothing that she noticed, at least.
So why, why the fuck did a serial killer started to be obsessed over her?
Why the fuck did she receive gifts with discreet details that made it that it was from that killer? Why the fuck did she receive letters and notes professing their love to her?
Lexi found herself thinking about this today, when she was alone at home.
The rain was pouring down like it wanted to destroy everything in its path on earth, and that was why she was alone. Cassie, her older sister, and her mother, Suzie, went to the supermarket and ended up deciding to wait out the rain because of how heavy it was, leaving the girl alone.
If they had known, would they have run here?
Lexi found herself thinking, curling up and hugging her legs on the couch, a blanket over her body, and a romantic movie playing on the television as a way to distract herself.
However, it wasn't working very well.
