“When am I going to get my trials?” Tim asked – for perhaps the sixth time that week. All of his friends were slowly going through their own Jedi Trials, and, well, he felt like he was falling behind. He was smart, wasn’t he? He’d been one of the top younglings of his year, always gotten praise from his mentors, and now he didn’t understand why he was falling behind.

He cleared his throat, shifting a little. Realizing the question might have annoyed his mentor, he gave a sheepish little smile. Perhaps he was pushing his luck, but it was making him anxious.

“I’m just curious, that’s all.”
