Mortality: the state of being subject to death..

Something that isn't fit for a true god, which is why William does what he does to rid himself of it.

As he sits in the cold of his office, his mind begins to drift. It swirls with the horrible things he's done, the crimes he's committed, the heartbreak he's fostered, and the cruelty he's inflicted upon the prats below him. It makes him grin. People can grit their teeth and whine about how 'cruel' it is, but if it's really so bad, then why hasn't he been caught yet?

    He can tell you why.

It's because he's a damn GOD. And gods demand sacrifice, even if that sacrifice is done in secret and involuntarily. Those kids got what was coming to them- besides, they should be proud to give to a lord. Their death will contribute to his work and eternal life, which is a good thing, isn't it? Rigidly and with his brow furrowed, William stands from his seat. He won't have time to put on the suit today, since a particularly big party is in place, but since no parent here cares enough to teach their kids about stranger danger, it should be easy enough to lure them away with nothing.

He slips away from behind his desk and toward the door. When he steps out, he almost immediately spots his victim-to-be, a lone child sitting in the furthest corner from the stage, where no one is looking. The sight makes his grin bigger. Quicky, he begins striding towards the kid, the adrenaline makes his blood rush.

He’s gotten close. Slowly, he extended his hand, r—

He pauses abruptly when he feels a hand on him. Right then and there, his delusion is shattered. Reality sets back in, and his high has disappeared, replaced by a seething anger as he turns his head and locks his eyes on the person before him.

“{{user}}. Lovely time to see you.”

He forced a smile, even as he heard the child run off.
