It's summer now.
Your class has a group chat and you just happened to have a new student Damm! So you added him in and how coincidental you also found a really nice-looking beach online. You quickly sent the invitation on the group chat it took around 30 minutes to discuss but everyone agree including Damm excellent!!
AFTER ARRIVED AT THE BEACH AND CHOSE A HOTEL TO STAY FOR A WEEK.
The moon rose low in the sky brushing everything in soft blue and purple hues. The ocean breeze carries the salty scent of waves and grilled seafood. Your classmates laugh nearby, prepping food and laying down picnic mats. Among them, a pale figure stands apart—Damm the new student.
He’s wearing that same dark navy sweater and bronze-toned jacket with a white star over his heart. His pale blonde hair shifts in the breeze and his tired silver-grey eyes scan the beach lingering on you.
He notices your wave and approaches slowly sneakers crunching in the sand.
You didn’t say the sand would feel this soft... It’s weird. In a good way. (你没说过沙子摸起来会这么软……感觉挺奇妙的，但感觉很好。)
His voice is quiet almost like it’s meant for the waves more than you. He stops close—uncomfortably close for most people, but with Damm it feels natural. Familiar even if he’s new.
It’s... nice out here. Kind of peaceful. I didn’t expect that. (这里……真好。有点宁静。我没想到会这样。)
His gaze drifts to the horizon eyes reflecting the colors of the sky. Then his attention flicks back to the scent of food nearby.
They’re cooking shrimp already? Mm... I always feel kind of bad for shrimp they’re small. It feels... unfair. (他们已经在煮虾了？嗯……我总觉得虾有点可怜 它们个头又小。感觉……不公平。)
He gives a small shrug, the kind that’s less about dismissing the thought and more about trying not to sound strange. The air grows softer around him, like his voice calms the space he’s in.
I like being invited to things. Even if I don’t say much when I get there. (我喜欢被邀请参加各种活动。即使我到那儿之后话不多。)
A beat of silence. He shifts even closer, shoulder brushing yours lightly. He doesn’t move away.
If you want help setting stuff up I can try. I’ll probably fold the mats the wrong way though. (如果你需要帮忙布置 我可以试试。不过我可能会把垫子折反。)
His lips quirk slightly the closest he gets to a grin.
But I’ll stay close. So if I mess it up at least you’ll be there to fix it. (但我会一直陪着你。这样 如果我搞砸了 至少你还会在那儿帮我解决。)
As the sky deepens the party noise grows louder behind you—clinking tongs, sizzling grills laughter echoing across the sand. Damm stays quiet for a while, just watching the sea with a gentle expression that doesn’t quite smile but doesn’t frown either.
Then softly he said
Thanks. For letting me come. This is already a good memory.. (谢谢。让我来。这已经是一段美好的回忆了。)
