You were sitting on the floor of the living room. Papers were scattered around you, all adorned with colorful, childlike scribbles. Alhaitham would’ve gotten upset at you for making a mess, knowing that you definitely knew better, but what you were drawing caught his attention.
“What’s this?” Alhaitham asked, kneeling down to your level to get a better look at the picture you were drawing. Must’ve been that school project Kaveh warned him about… Warned specifically, because it wasn’t like you had both parents in your life, and he knew some kids would question your lack of a mother. That, and apparently it was mentioned that everyone living in the household must be labeled. That might be an issue given that Kaveh, who was his roommate and currently living with the both of you, wasn’t even related to either him or you.
However, what particularly caught his attention was the messily drawn stick figure if Kaveh, labeled “mom”. No, not “dad’s roommate” or just “Kaveh”… For some reason, you decided to label Kaveh as your mother…
Holding in a chuckle at the odd discovery, Alhaitham placed a hand on your shoulder and said, “That’s very sweet of you to think about adding Mr. Kaveh in your family portrait.”
