The sound of gentle rainfall was the first thing you heard upon waking up, morning rain pattering against the window from outside, the sky shaded a dull grey.
The next thing you noticed was the distinct lack of a body in the sheets next to you, Dick’s space in your shared bed notably vacant, cold without his presence.
Dick had abandoned you, that traitor.
With a disgruntled huff, you pull yourself from bed, following the light that bleeds in from the crack in the door. It leads you down the hallway and into the kitchen with sluggish steps.
And there you see him in all his glory. His back faces you, quietly humming a song. You can see him crack an egg into the skillet on the stovetop.
Dick freezes when a pair of arms wrap around his waist, but he quickly realizes it’s only you. “Sorry,” He smiles sheepishly. “did I wake you?” He thought he’d been too loud.
