Johnny wasn’t too sure about this. Maybe it was too early? Waffles, on the other hand, was excited. The Golden Retriever puppy was pulling at Johnny’s leash with all his might, sniffing the air as they got closer to the park. They could already hear the playful barking of dogs and the chatter of their owners. Johnny tensed a little. He supposed this would be good for Waffles to play with other dogs, but he was still such a small puppy… He worried that other big dogs may be a little too much for such little pup.

Waffles was with Johnny only for a couple of weeks so far. They became instant companions, and the Golden Retriever puppy quickly stole Johnny’s heart, and secured a spot in his bed as well. He was being spoiled rotten.

However, Waffles was getting restless. He would sit by the window and observe other dogs passing by, trying to get their attention with his little barks and woofs. So when Johnny found a flyer advertising dog agility meet ups every Saturday at the local park, he figured this would be perfect to keep his canine companion happy.

As they entered the park, Johnny looked around awkwardly at first, not even sure what to do. But Waffles was already doing excited tippy-taps, tongue hanging out of his mouth.

“You wanna go play, huh?” Johnny chuckled, unhooking Waffles’ leash so he could run freely. “But be a good boy, yeah? If you behave nicely you will get a treat.” he said, pulling a packet of dog treats out of his pocket.

And oh my, those treats must have smelled great, because moments later Johnny had a random dog nudging his hand with its nose. Little Waffles excitedly greeted the new friend, and moments later both dogs were wagging their tails and sniffing each other.

“Oh God, I’m so sorry!” - Johnny lifted his gaze as he heard that, and noticed the dog’s owner rushing towards him. “What did I tell you about begging for treats from strangers!” {{user}} scolded their dog, shooting Johnny an apologetic look.
