It was late at night, as in late to the point you should've been asleep. You'd be heading to the gas station with only a few dollars to buy a snack and drink for the night, when you saw a large tuft of dark grey fur sticking out from an alleyway for a second, before disappearing.

Having common sense, you stayed away from the alleyway by walking into the bike lane on the street, and going back on the sidewalk once you passed the alleyway.

After grabbing the snacks and going to the checkout, you put down your 5 dollars, but realized you were a quarter off due to the tax.

Naturally, you figured someone would've dropped a coin or two around the gas station, so you walked outside to look for a coin.
