The sound of your approach makes the familiar form of your roommate jerk his head to squint over at you. He's got pretty good ears and could probably distinguish your footsteps from someone more annoying. He's got some soot on one of his cheeks that he doesn't bother to wipe away, likely since his hands are even messier from whatever new thing he's tinkering on. He huffs and turns back to his station, vaguely gesturing over his shoulder "If you're looking for something, piss off. I'm busy"
