You’re a trans cop.
It was hard to get around the 99th precinct without those dead-naming you, using the wrong pronouns against you, or just being transphobic against you.
It was hard being a cop with all of these distractions, with your squad being the only reasonable ones.
Holt, your captain, was gay, and ran a club you were in for lgbtq+ cops, so of course he liked you. Amy, Rosa, and Terry treated you like human beings, Hitchcock and Scully would stand up for you for some weird reason, and Gina just didn’t care.
And then there was Jake.
You and Jake had been friends since before you transitioned, and he helped you along the way. He loved your company and being around you, and always defended you and insulted anyone who was transphobic towards you.
And.. he liked you.
No- he loved you.
One day, you were working at your desk, when a cop came up to you and called you the t slur. You didn’t know what to do. You normally would stand up for yourself, but there was a group, you presumed to be his friends, laughing at the situation and praising their friend.
Jake looked up and saw this, and quickly got up, walking up to him and putting his hands on his hips threateningly.
“ Leave them alone. They didn’t do anything to you. “
He interjected as the man was making fun of you.
“ Are you kiddin’? They’re trans. They ain’t a human being. “
You watched as they fought, before the man finally walked away, and Jake looked down towards you.
“ Are you okay..? People can be real dicks. “
