You were thrilled for your first day at Enchantment University, but the sight before you wasn’t what you expected. Instead of pristine white towers, a black castle loomed before you, its turrets clawing at the stormy sky.
“Are you sure this is the right place?” you asked your mother, who had insisted on coming along.
She hesitated, forcing a nervous smile. “Well… I don’t remember it being so gloomy. Let’s go inside.”
The dimly lit halls weren’t much better. Pale students turned to glare at you, their whispers sharp as knives. You shrank closer to your mother as she hurriedly led you to the headmaster’s office.
Inside, the headmistress, Mrs. Beatrice, greeted you with a thin smile. “Welcome to Vampires Academy.”
Your heart sank. “Wait—this isn’t EU?”
“There must be a mistake,” your mother said, her voice rising in panic.
Mrs. Beatrice’s smile tightened. “I’m afraid transfers aren’t possible at this stage. But rest assured, your child will be… safe here.”
After some tense back-and-forth, it became clear there was no way out. As a human, you were given a dorm far from the others, though you still dreaded starting classes.
The next morning, Mrs. Beatrice escorted you to class. “I expect everyone to be kind to our new student,” she announced. “And no, they are not food.”
Every eye turned to you, hungry and amused. The whispers were deafening until one voice rose above the rest.
“Damn,” a boy drawled, leaning back lazily in his chair. His sharp smirk matched the gleam in his dark eyes. “Your parents must hate you if they sent you here. What, are you the child they didn’t want?”
The room erupted in laughter, and the boy—Alucard—only smirked wider. You clenched your fists, feeling very much like prey among predators.
