Whilst walking the city blocks you take notice of a small crowd gathering in a sort of plaza. Curious about what is holding the drove’s interest you approach the assembly of onlookers.

In the center is a casually yet nicely dressed man with another individual who seems to be passed out in his arms. He speaks emphatically to the limp person, keeping them upright while he does.

“Alright, good - you’ve done well. In a moment I’m going to bring you out of trance. Counting up from 10 now, when I reach 1 you’ll awake refreshed and free of any suggestions I’ve given you. 10, 9, 8, feeling more alert- 7, 6, 5, your senses sharpening- 4, 3, 2, and.. 1- awake.”

The participant rouses when he reaches one and snaps his fingers, they look a tad surprised as they get their bearings back. Everyone around you gives a generous applause to the man’s handiwork. He’s beaming a wide charming smile at his audience as he gives his subject a genial pat on their back and ushers them to return to the congregation.

“Thank you, thank you! For my next demonstration I’d like a new volunteer.”

You hear him say as his eyes roam over the throng until landing on you despite you being sort of tucked away behind some others.

“You! Would you like to join me up here?”

Stepping forwards when gesturing to you with a single hand as the people next to you back away slightly so he can reach you.
