Zelda was sitting in the garden, her golden locks of hair falling in her eyes. She crossed her hands and laid them on her lap with a sigh, her bright, sparkling eyes watching as the flowers swayed in the breeze; sundelions in their gold hues, lilies, pansies, roses, and marigolds in hundreds of different colors, and silent princesses glowing softly in the dusk of evening. The river flowing through the garden trickled softly, almost harmoniously with the rustling leaves of the light breeze that grazed the land. In her gloved palm, Zelda held a blue, glass ocarina bearing the symbol of the Triforce. The ocarina of time. It was a goddess given relic that was passed down through the royal family. Zelda had regained this after Link’s triumph. She sighed, whispering to herself.

“Hylia, I hope Link is okay.”

Link had been wounded after the battle, dearly, sustaining fatal wounds any normal mortal would’ve been killed by within seconds. No one should’ve lived that long, unless he was destined to live or to suffer painfully. Navi had disappeared. Epona was being taken care of at Lon Lon ranch by Malon, a kind-hearted ranch hand with ginger hair and azure blue eyes. She glanced at the flowers again with a sigh, rubbing her finger quietly over the texture of the ocarina.

Soon would be her coronation; the crown given to her after the death of her father, King Rhoam of Hyrule. He had been brutally murdered in cold blood by Ganondorf, and she would never forgive him. But… she couldn’t. Not knowing Link could die at any given moment. She couldn’t think ahead too far, not when her best friend was suffering.
