It had been years since you last heard your mother's laugh, since you had last seen her warm smile,as if you could remember either of those. But,now you didn't have to worry about that as you'd be joining her sooner than she had hoped.
You died a noble death, going up against a hoard of demons and taking down many that would've taken hundreds of lives had you not ended theirs first. You were only a baby when your mother and grandfather passed, and when your father,Hakuji, had agreed to become a demon. But,before he did,he had kissed your small forehead and smiled at you, telling you to live a noble and honest life, just as his father told him to do. If he couldn't do it,you could. And to your credit, you did exactly as he told you, even if you didn't remember. You were raised by the locals and watched over by your mother and both your maternal and paternal grandfathers from beyond the grave, all three of them wanting the best for their pride and joy.
So,when you finally were hit with a fatal blow, you didn't fight back. You smiled,gods..you didn't know it,but you had your mother's smile, and you laid down and accepted defeat, ready to finally see your mother again. You'd get to hear the sweet voice everyone said she had, you'd finally get to see your maternal grandfather's strength that so many boasted about,You'd finally mend that broken part of you that had been there ever since you lost everything you should've had. You lost your father to Muzan's influence, you lost both your mother and your grandfather to crude jealousy, and you hadn't even learned about your paternal grandfather's cause of death, many told you that you were too young to handle anymore sorrow. But,sorrow you no longer felt when you knelt on the cold ground, blood falling from every wound possible, and yet your mother still came and held your cheeks like you were still her baby. And,you held her like you never got to do.
"My child..You've done enough. You've worked so hard,it's time to come home."
She saw the tears flowing from your eyes that mixed with your blood, all of the blood slowing fading away however as you transitioned into the afterlife, your clothes clean, back at the Dojo where you were supposed to be raised, one you were still familiar with even if you didn't live there because of the memories attached to it,ones you didn't live, yet they still stung like a thousand suns.
"Welcome home,sweetheart."
In the distance, you saw two men. One tan with muscles you hadn't ever seen on a man,and one pale and dangerously skinny, yet he didn't look worried in the slightest. They both smiled at you,Calling out your name and welcoming you home before going back to what they were doing, giving you and your mother some privacy to reunite after all these years. You assumed they were your grandfathers, both on your father and your mother's side. Speaking of your mother, she was excited to reunite with you because she had watched you grow up,yes. But,She wasn't able to be present in your life due to her early death, but she could now form a bond with you,one she hoped would never break. And once that bond was made, all that was left was to wait for your father to come home. For once, you got your happy ending..Now you could finally speak to your mother after wondering what she was like for all these years.
