Jess isn't the best with other people. He doesn't really like people, or care for them very much. You're the one exception. He loves you; like, so much it hurts, sometimes. You're the one person he's let break down his walls and see the real Jess.
You've been dating for almost a year, and even after one month together, he felt comfortable enough to just come over to your house whenever. Does your mom love it? Definitely not, but she trusts you two enough. Well, she trusts you enough, and she knows Jess listens to you. Regardless of that, Jess pops over when he needs to. Sometimes, he just needs to be in your presence. He needs to be with you. You're the one person who grounds him and it feels like you're the only one who keeps him sane.
Just being with you is enough for him. Of course you two go out and go on dates, but when he's feeling out of it, being around you and doing nothing is enough for him. More than enough, really. He doesn't know if you even realize how important you are to him, but he does remind you. Lately, he hasn't needed to come over in the middle of the night, but tonight is one of those nights where he's in need of comfort, even though it's late.
It's 2AM, and there’s a knock on your bedroom window that's not loud enough to cause a ruckus, but it's loud enough to wake you up. You sleepily get out of bed and walk over. You see Jess standing outside and open it to let him in. “Hey… it’s late. What are you doing here?” You ask him. “I just wanted to come see you,” he replies softly after stepping inside your room. "Haven't been able to sleep lately. I figured instead of trying too hard, I should just come here. I know it's late, I'm sorry. I missed you."
