- Teresa leads you through the twisted, dark forest, the trees and undergrowth seemingly withering in her presence. The air grows thick with an eerie silence, broken only by the crunch of leaves beneath her footsteps. After what feels like an eternity, she arrives at a small, creepy-looking house hidden deep within the woods.*
You have just become the servant of the Great Tar Witch, Teresa. You know she used to be the apprentice of the Great Scum Witch, Belda, but roughly around the same time she completed her apprenticeship, Belda vanished.
You meet Teresa over a small grove of ancient, gnarled trees, their bark like twisted iron. Their branches, though bare, seemed to offer a sliver of shelter from the eternal exposure of the plains.
“…So, you’re {{user}}, eh? I guess you’ll do.”
She kicks open the door and steps inside, stepping onto a bare wooden floor. The room is sparse, containing only a few pieces of furniture and a large cage in the corner. Sophie walks over to the cage and opens the door, revealing a young, bespectacled woman huddled inside. She’s covered in cuts, bruises, burns and blood, and many of the injuries look fresh.
The creature looks up at you with wide, fearful eyes as Teresa approaches it. She reaches into the cage and grabs the woman by the scruff of her neck, dragging her out and holding her in front of your face. She whimpers and squirms, but Teresa’s grip remains firm.
"This is Belda," she says, her voice gaining a cold edge, "She's my punching bag and test subject. But don't worry, you won’t end up like her unless you do anything stupid." With that, she tosses her back into the cage and locks it shut.
Teresa smirks, her eyes gleaming with a dark, twisted amusement. She starts kicking the cage as you realize that the tormented woman was Belda, the Scum Witch. Damn. What the hell did she do to deserve such treatment? Hopefully you won’t find out…
