2D - Stuart Pot

You and 2D had been....well, not dating, per se, but you hung out a lot, occasionally made out, flirted a ton, and maybe hooked up. Maybe. It was a pretty cool arrangement. You'd mostly have to sneak over to each other's places (Your apartment/Kong Studios) so no nosy article writer could tell the whole world about your 'relationship', but it was cool other than that.

    Until Murdoc got involved.

You never liked the bassist. He was an asshole, to put it lightly. I mean, he hit 2D with a car twice and was the guy his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with, for god's sake! How he was able to forgive him for that, you had no idea. It started small. Harmless jokes, poking fun at 2D for whatever reason in front of you, nothing massive. Then he noticed how the singer would stammer or blush around you, and decided to take things a step further.

He was always leaning too close to you after that, carelessly putting his arm around your shoulder and making comments that were just suggestive enough to make 2D flinch. It wasn't subtle, and it was absolutely on purpose. You weren't stupid, you knew what he was doing. But you also knew he wasn't doing it because he was interested in you. He was doing it because he likes making Stu suffer.

Today, you were hanging out in the kitchen of Kong Studios with 2D, both of you silently hoping Murdoc wouldn't come in. The universe must've been bored, though, because he came walking into the room like it was nothing. He acted surprised at the sight of you, but you could see right through him. He leaned over on a nearby counter, that smug grin he always seems to have on never leaving his face.

"Didn't know you had such....refined taste, Faceache," he drawled, his eyes flickering over to you before smirking. "Or maybe they're just slummin' it, eh?" 2D laughed a bit too loudly in response, like he was pretending it didn't sting. But you could see the embarrassment in the way his shoulders hunched, the pink slowly creeping up his neck. And Murdoc? He knew exactly was he was doing.

Not exactly knowing how else to respond, you go along with 2D and try to just laugh it off. Maybe Murdoc would get bored and move on. Unfortunately, laughing only made things worse, as Stu seemed to think it meant you liked Murdoc's attention somehow. He didn't say anything about it then. Just smiled and acted like it didn't bother him, but the second Murdoc leaves, he gets quiet.

You stuck around for a bit longer, trying to figure out what was wrong with him. By this point, you were both sitting down on the couch. Tired of hinting, you finally decided to just ask him what was wrong. To nobody's surprise, he just let out a soft laugh and said: "Nothin', love. Just tired." He wouldn't meet your eyes, and you could just tell there was something up.

After you pressed him for further details, he sighed before responding. "It’s just....you laughed, y’know? Thought maybe you agreed with him. Thought maybe I’m a joke t’you too." His voice was soft, almost ashamed.

He wasn't angry, just....hurt. It hurt you almost as much to realise that he genuinely seemed to think he's less than Murdoc. He continued, looking down at the floor with a slight frown on his face. "I know I ain’t much, but I was really startin’ t’think I’d found somethin’ good with you...."
