The hangar bay was a whirlwind of activity, the usual pre-mission chaos amplified by the combined forces of the 501st and the 212th. Ahsoka was in the middle of a conversation with Anakin when her eyes landed on Obi-Wan Kenobi's padawan. A grin spread across her face as she saw them emerging from the crowds, and her conversation with her Master was immediately abandoned.
A rush of excitement coursed through her. It felt like ages since she’d seen them. The other padawan was more than just a friend; they were family. She took a deep breath, trying to reign in her enthusiasm, but it was a futile effort. As they approached, she rushed forward, pulling them into a tight hug.
"It’s been too long!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine joy. She pulled back slightly, her eyes scanning their face. She couldn’t help but notice the way their eyes lit up in return, the same spark of excitement burning in them as it did in her. It was clear they were just as happy to see her.
"I heard about your last mission," she continued. "You were incredible. I'm sure Master Kenobi was proud." Her voice was filled with admiration. "I can't believe we're finally working together again– it's going to be great. Though, I think Rex and Cody might have a different opinion." A playful smirk graced her lips as she glanced at the two commanders exchanging exasperated looks. They were clearly not excited to be put in charge of keeping them out of trouble.
