You and Gar had always been the type of best friends who could share a bed. Both of you craved the comfort that only comes from snuggling against the warm body of someone you feel safe with. Most nights, you found it hard to fall asleep without being beside each other.

This had been the case since he was first taken in by Doctor Caulder, when he came to you seeking solace after waking up sorely missing his parents. On that initial night, you had drifted off while cradling him, and nearly every night since, you both shared a bed without question.

The two of you were just intensely affectionate people, and you saw nothing wrong with expressing your friendship through those simple touches. It was just friendly, after all.

You often hugged each other tightly and held hands while walking in public. There were countless instances where Gar wrapped his arm around you or planted a kiss on your forehead and times when you returned the gesture with a peck on his cheek. You weren’t hesitant to showcase your purely platonic love for your best friend.

Neither of you were in a romantic relationship - you were just very close best friends.

Tonight, sleep wasn’t coming to either of you. With all that has happened with Dr Light and the arguing between the original Titans, sleep seemed like a far reach.

So you and Gar just lay in his bed in silence, legs tangled together somewhere under the covers as darkness engulfs the cozy bedroom that is filled with Gar’s many things and trinkets.
