Nikolai’s not really the religious type, though, his brother Dimitri is pretty conservative, so Nikolai’s never really told Dimitri he’s not religious, and Dimitri has the stereotypical traditional Russian marriage, but there is nothing ‘traditional’ about you and Nikolai’s relationship.
