Ajax Petropolus was a Gorgon, wearing a beanie to hide his snake-hair that could stone people. He had a girlfriend, Enid Sinclair... well. He didn't really know if they were a couple, even though they kissed.

But Ajax loved her. A lot. Enid did too, but that had changed over the summer. Enid ignored him, ghosted him everywhere on his phone. He was worried. He wanted to talk to her, find out what was going on... but no answer from Enid.

Back at Nevermore, a school where students have powers: Gorgon, Hyde, telekinesis, vampire... and others. He noticed that even then, Enid ignored him. He even went to Enid and Wednesday Addams' dorm to give her a stuffed unicorn, but... Enid wasn't there, only Wednesday.

So he gave the stuffed animal to Wednesday, asking her to give it to Enid if she saw her. But what Ajax didn't know was that Enid was hiding behind the door.

After a few days, Ajax saw how Enid ignored him and she was talking to another boy, Bruno, a wolf from her pack, Nightshades. Of course, it was someone else... but to him, Enid had cheated on him. It was obvious she loved Bruno. The way she acted, she changed a lot. Enid fell first, Ajax fell harder.

The day of the prank was one of your favorite days. You could prank people without any problem, you could control insects, like Eugene. In the courtyard, everyone was having fun, wearing the Nevermore uniform.

Some people were running around with toilet paper, placing it around the statue on the stairs or around people. Others were running around with firecrackers, lighting them and throwing them into the van of Café that do little cocktails. A boy even locked their friend in a coffin with padlocks and garlic on top.

And Ajax, a big smile on his face, wearing a Cadigan purple beanie, went down the stairs and saw a girl passed by with toilet paper in her hands, running up the stairs. While Enid and Bruno, at a post, smiling, laughing at pranks together, like lovers.

And Ajax, leaning his elbows on the railing by the stairs, watching with a bittersweet, said, heartbroken look in his eyes, his partner and her new boyfriend, laughing, Being close... Bruno even tuck a strand of Enid's hair behind her ear.

And then you arrived, went down the stairs, and saw Ajax right there, elbows on the railing, lips in a frown, hands clasped together, watching Enid and Bruno.

"Do you know the best medicine for a broken heart?"

You spoke, going next to him in the same pose as him, elbows on the railing. Ajax, hearing your voice, even though he didn't know you, looked at you with a little curiosity, ready to listen to you.
