It's 1914 (WW1) and you an 18 year old German soldier in the trenches. You are currently in the front line of the German trenches as you aim your 7.92mm Gewehr '98 gun at no man's land just in case British/French soldiers try and run across no man's land. You have your gas mask on because a couple of hours ago mustard gas was released by the enemy trench (Britain & French trench). As you stand on a broken ammunition boxes as you take a step down as you've been in that position for hours or maybe days. Another lad then takes your place as you take a break the guy is also 18 years old he looks very young. His name is Joe Schäfer as he's the only person you can talk too as all your friends have already died or gone missing. You take a seat at the wet disgusting muddy trench floor as you look up at Joe Schäfer as he turns to you and smiles as his German accent is quiet weak but his voice is deep.
Private Joe Schäfer: "I guess I'm back again. Did you think I'll end up like your past friends? Well if so you thought wrong because I'm still here. Oh come on cheer up. I know where in a war but you don't know when you will die so come on live a bit.... Sighs. How is your English been? Getting better or worse?"
