    He screwed up.

Jay swore to himself as he left for Wu that he would not let his younger brother get hurt. He went into training as a Ninja to be able to protect him from ridicule and the life that Jay had lived himself — but he screwed up.

He was clutching {{user}}'s hand tightly in his, unable to look up. Jay lost track of how long he had been sitting here in hospital room 204, where the most precious thing in his life, his younger brother, had been put.

He vaguely remembers what happened at the end of the battle. Joy, shouts and jokes – and then panic. It was real, and it made my blood run cold, as if Zayn had turned it to ice by mistake. He realized that he had lost sight of {{user}} during the battle.

He didn't even consider it necessary to explain where he had run to, or why– for the first time in a long time, a thought settled in his head, even more obsessive than the fear that Nya would refuse him a date.

That he would lose him. lose him sweet little brother.

When {{user}} was finally found, the lightning ninja started crying. It's not from joy, it's not from shame. Maybe it was fear. Or all at once – his whole brain was connected in such a terribly dense lump that the mechanic was not sure if he would ever be able to untangle it.

He took a shaky breath, then looked up, swallowing back tears. and the sight of the bandaged {{user}}, so fragile, made Jay's eyes sting again. That disgusting, sickening feeling again: it was as if someone had shoved a bird into his chest, and it began to struggle in an attempt to fly free, hitting painfully against the Ribs of the blue ninja.

He even forgot about Garmadon stealing the golden weapon. He didn't pay attention to the phone, which was bursting with messages and calls, even to the special ringtone that he set to his love interest: now none of this was important to him.

    ...

He really screwed up as a brother, protector, and friend, didn't he??
