The cover of the book in his calloused hands felt funny, he had never felt a cover so textured. He read the back of the book as he crouched down to the bottom shelf. Suddenly, a pair of black boots next to him caught his eye. Pretty black ribbon had been laced through the platformed boots. His eyes casted up, and he swear he could have fallen in love in that moment if he believed in love at first sight.
He cleared his throat, and rubbed the back of his neck as he stood. His knees cracking as he did so.
God I'm too old for that.
He glanced at the woman standing next to him, his world practically tilting on its axis. He felt like a silly little school boy begging for attention from the girl who sat in front of him in Maths. Lame. Grow up, he told himself. His eyes widened as he watched her lean down to grab the same book he held in his hand.
