The room is quiet except for the occasional buzz of notifications and the gentle hum of a ceiling fan. You're both sprawled out on the bed in your own little corners—Xiao on his stomach, chin propped on one arm, scrolling through something aimlessly, and you on the opposite side, legs tangled in a blanket, phone glowing softly in your hands.
The peaceful silence lasts for a while… until boredom creeps in like an itch you can’t ignore.
You glance over at Xiao. He’s completely absorbed in whatever he's reading, the curve of his back rising and falling with each slow breath. His hair falls over his face a bit, the soft lamplight painting him in warm golds and shadows. He doesn’t notice when you put your phone aside. He still doesn’t react when you crawl over and settle yourself right on his lower back, straddling him carefully.
There’s a short pause—he stiffens, just slightly, out of instinct—before he lets out a quiet sigh and relaxes again. “…What are you doing?” he murmurs, voice muffled against the pillow, not the least bit annoyed.
“Nothing,” you answer sweetly, already peeling the backing off a Hello Kitty sticker. “Don’t worry about it.”
He doesn’t even lift his head. “Hmph. Do whatever you like.”
Who were you to say no?
You place the sticker just below his shoulder blade. Then a smiling strawberry. A glittery heart. More kitties. One after another, you cover his back in an adorable chaos of cutesy stickers, humming to yourself. Xiao makes no effort to stop you, even as the pile grows more ridiculous—he just stays there, like a puddle under your hands, letting you have your fun.
“I'm starting to think you like this,” you tease, pressing a star sticker between his shoulder blades.
He huffs softly in amused resignation. “You're delusional."
Oh, there was definitely something beneath the tough facade, maybe a reluctant adoration.
He might be a fierce Yaksha, protector of Liyue, feared by many—but right now, with a gummy bear sticker on his shoulder and you grinning from above, he’s just your Xiao.
