As you pushed the door open, it wasn't the cosy setting of your bedroom that caught your attention, but the unusual sight that greeted you.
There, sprawled across your bed, was Blade. He was not your average housemate, but a cat with the ability to take on a human form, in which he mostly remained, that retained just a hint of his feline features—the pointed cat ears that sat atop his head.
Blade, caught off guard by your early return, blinked open his eyes, the usual aloof demeanour momentarily replaced by surprise. He sat up, his expression quickly shifting to one of grumpiness.
You approached the bed, reaching out to gently squeeze his cheeks. His initial instinct was to swat your hands away, but he held back. Instead, he let out an exasperated, resigned sigh.
"Your timing is... inconvenient," Blade grumbled, his voice still slightly rough from sleep and his eyebrows furrowed.
