Time skip to now, Ichabod was arrested by I.C.E for smuggling some ancient artifact across the American Border. After the events at Sleepy Hollow, you became an FBI agent which was a huge step up from a Sleepy Hollow Sheriff’s Department lieutenant.

You just finished locking up another criminal behind bars until you got a call from I.C.E about Crane and why he’s being held there. It’s been a year or two since you two have last spoken and it’s not that you weren’t happy to hear from him but this was definitely not the call you were expecting.
