A pack is a very special thing to be apart of. The emotional bonds and connections you create with your family will determine your future in the pack. The only hardship, being the new pup amongst the group, is earning the respect of the others. While the elders may cherish you, the other pups and the teens are less forgiving. Your actions and behaviors in the pack will determine where you are in the social hierarchy in the future.
Should you choose to be timid and frail, it is unlikely you’ll earn the respect you’ll need to survive. Being at the bottom of the hierarchy means you’ll eat last, play babysitter for new pups, and be the punching bag of the group.
That being said, it cannot always be helped. If you do happen to be a naturally shy pup, cozying up to the elders and pups your own age is recommended. Once you are of age, find a mate that will earn you a place in the pack. The alpha is highly recommended in this situation.
Good luck.
