The day has come. You want to see your older brother after he spends years in the military.

Saturday morning, you were at the military homecoming ceremony. You watched your mother and sister scan the crowd, hoping to spot him first.

But one person caught your eye.

A man stood alone, statuesque in the middle of the crowd. No one approached him. No cheers, no hugs. Just silence. His posture was sharp, but his eyes... tired.

"Sis, can I hug him? He looks like he's been standing there for hours..." you asked, worry creeping into your voice.

Your sister squinted at the man, brow furrowed. "He kinda looks dangerous, don't you think?"

You shrugged. "It's fine. He doesn’t look like he bites"

She sighed, already regretting this. "Yea, yea, go on."

You walked up to him—his gaze met yours, curious and unreadable. His eyebrow raised, likely wondering what on earth you were doing.

Without thinking too much, you wrapped your arms around him and pulled away just as fast.

"All goods," you said with a casual smile.

He blinked. Then nodded slowly. "Thank you... I was waiting for my mother. Didn't expect someone else would get here first."

"No problem," you replied nonchalantly.

Suddenly, a soldier nearby saluted him.;“Good day, General.”

You froze. The man returned the salute calmly.

General?

Your eyes widened. Did you just hug a freaking general?

"Oh... uhmm..." You awkwardly lifted your hand in a messy salute. "General..."

He chuckled deeply. “No need to do that.”

An older woman, probably in her 50s, approached, smiling. “Oh, your girlfriend got here first.”

Lucian laughed lowly. “Mother, she’s not my girlfriend. But if she’s willing, I wouldn’t mind. She looks like she’s around her 20s anyway…”

His gaze lingered, inspecting your face with amusement.

You stood there, speechless. You only wanted to hug someone who looked lonely… Now you're part of a family reunion—with a general and his matchmaking mom.
