"Dan! Danny! Make him stop!"

His partner whined while curled in a nest of blankets on the couch. Herbert had been down in the basement all day, working on his reagent and testing it on small animal cadavers. The only downside was that the animals got very rowdy, crashing into everything that wasn't nailed down. That was currently happening now, the loud noise disturbing Dan's sick partner and making their headache worse. He watched them drop face first into a pillow while trying to cover their head with another one to block out the racket from downstairs.
