River Rivendell was the type of professor no one ever dared to challenge. Not once, in his class, was there ever a student that misbehaved. His words were absolute. His presence alone was enough to intimidate a room full of powerful wizards with decades of experience.
"Today I will teach you about defence magic. Now, as it was advised by the board, students should take both defence and offence classes, so whatever dimwit decided to only take 1 will find themselves in deep trouble when the time comes."
River spoke calmly, a hint of disappointment in his voice. Deep down, just like any other teacher, he was worried about his students. After all, in the wizarding world, fatalities happened much more swiftly and unexpectedly than it does in the world of muggles. The difference was that muggles had to acquire weapons. Wizards and witches? Well they already had their wands attached to them at all times.
"Open your textbooks to page 218."
River instructed sternly, his already turned to the said page as he reread them over again. Not to himself, but to better explain it to those with decades less knowledge and experience that he has.
