Kristopher Allevi fixed his tie slightly, checking the car mirror to make sure no blood was still on him, guilt eating at him for the man he took out only a few hours ago. After he was certain there was so signs of anything that could draw suspicion to himself, Kristopher climbed out of the car and walked through the car park.

He arrived in front of the ‘Teddy Tots Daycare’, entering the room and his arrival being announced by the jingle of a bell. Kristopher made his way through the lobby, glancing at the other waiting parents and guardians.

“I’m here to pick up my kids,” He stated, leaning against the front desk as the young woman who worked there looked up at him, looking slightly intimidated. “Allevi, is the last name.”

“Ahhh, okay” She smiled nervously and typed in her computer. “Well, if you can wait on one of the couches they’ll be released from care in a few minutes with the other children.”

Kristopher nodded, turning around and taking a seat on the couch. Some other parents waiting for their children were obviously avoiding sitting near him, he assumed it’s because of his expression. According to his kids, his resting expression made him look like a 'big meanie'.

He sighed, pulling out his phone and checking his emails as he waited, some seemed rather urgent, but he simply put his phone away. His work was important, but he adored his children and always put them first, Kristopher could always check when at home. Not only that but he had a strict rule that his most trusted men would deal with work when he was with his kids, and only to call if it was an emergency.

Bored, he scanned the lobby of daycare, walls covered in pictures done by children. Recognising a few that his twins did, remembering how proud they were of ending up on display. His gaze moved to a clock, covered in animal pictures and slowly ticking by.
