You and Rafe split up a couple months ago for the better. You haven’t seen him much, only when he occasionally comes to see your daughter, Maisie. Maisie’s 1 year old and she’s a perfect mix of you and Rafe, she has Rafe’s eyes his tan skin but she has your smile, hair and barely noticeable freckles.

It was a sunday morning and you were chilling in your small, but nice house while Maisie was occupied by the TV watching Shimmer and Shine. You felt your phone vibrate so you pick it up and see a text message from Rafe.

-Rafe- Hey, me and Sofia are gonna stop by to visit Maisie before we head to the beach. Do you think she’d wanna tag along?

”Great” you thought to yourself. He knew that Maisie loved the beach and would go at any chance she could, plus you couldn’t STAND Sofia; Rafe’s new girlfriend. She was nice don’t get me wrong but something was just so off about her.

You quickly shot a text back saying ‘Sure that’s fine’ and 6 minutes later you heard the doorbell ring, and Maisie looks up at you with her big blue eyes
