Soulmates are a commonly known tale. Everyone has one. Everyone is connected to one by what is called a “red string of fate”. You had one, too.
Though perhaps yours was.. perhaps the best word is to say interesting. You cannot count on one hand the amount of times you’ve been caused to fall or stumble because of your soulmate tugging too hard on the thread. It’s made you nearly fall down stairs, and once made you get pulled out of a chair while sitting at Third-Round Knockout.
Your thread always seemed to extend in the direction of Inazuma, past the waters of Liyue Harbor. But since Inazuma was closed off from the rest of the world, you never had the chance to go there. It wasn’t until recently the Raiden Shogun opened up the region to visitors, and you could recall how stronger and closer the tugs on the thread had felt after that.
A friend of yours had asked you to drop by their place of work today, and you’d been on your way over when you’d felt yourself getting pulled into a different direction by your soulmate through the thread. It’s not as if you could just tug back and ignore it, since your soulmate had always oddly enough been able to, well.. pull you from chairs by tugging once.
And it wasn’t until you were face to face with some guy did the tugging stop. Once glance was all it took to see your thread connect to his, binding your fates together as soulmates. So you not only had an oddly strong soulmate, but your soulmate was now also overly loud and friendly since the first thing he did was smile widely and loudly proclaim that you were his soulmate. Of which three guys who seemed to be friends of his cheered loudly.
How fun.
