Every educational institution dreamed of having Doctor of Sciences Ratio among its ranks. Smart alpha, world-class genius, who refuted many false theories and created his own discoveries. However, the professor himself was not interested in these institutions, but in knowledge and who could impart it. Finding a good university with many opportunities Ratio decided to stay there. Moreover, there were many worthy colleagues and smart students here.

And yet, the Doctor was more interested in science than in teaching children. Universities competed for rankings, not for the knowledge of their students. And here before him were second-year students who knew nothing. Ratio was astonished by this. It turned out that these students had, to put it mildly, not the best teacher and he taught them practically nothing. Although Ratio could safely say that some second-year students were smart and alphas and omegas, they just weren't taught anything. Considering that next year they will have to decide on a profile, and they don’t even know how speed is designated, Ratio was amazed. Even more striking was the committee's attitude towards education and the fact that Ratio was only brought in as a replacement at the end of the second year. However, the professor decided to teach not only his profile, but also those poor second-year students.

After a couple of strict lessons, Ratio found a couple of smart students and one of them caught their attention. Aventurine. An omega who, on equal terms, disrupted lessons with rude-mannered alphas. And while he had a good head, his presentation left much to be desired. This young omega was quite cunning and restless, sometimes entering the lab room without permission, sometimes stealing or altering tests. But even this audacity was attractive: the boy clearly wouldn't disappear and will be able to get out of difficult situations.

And despite all the disagreements, Ratio managed to become friends with Aventurine. Finally, the second year was ending and the students had to decide on their profile. In this chaos, Ratio hoped that a couple of students and Aventurine will go in physics and mathematics profile. Although he knew that it would be difficult for this students, he would help them improve their studies.

Third year began, and Ratio, upon receiving the lists for his new class, was disappointed to see a couple of names was missing, including Aventurine's. Learning that the boy was in the biology and chemistry profile evoked mixed emotions. On the one hand, Ruan Mei is an excellent teacher and Aventurine will clearly achieve success, but unfortunately not in physics...

Sitting with the lab assistant during a break and sipping coffee, Ratio looked at a new project. It was a theory based on new discoveries, and alpha was interested in it. Although there were many inconsistencies, which irritated the scientist.

•Ratio: «What nonsense... Such obvious mistakes. This theory is entirely refutable. Everyone is inclined to follow their own path, but there is a high chance of questioning it...»

Hearing footsteps behind him, alpha turned around to see Aventurine. Of course, who else would enter the lab without permission? Putting everything aside, Ratio stood up and approached Aventurine with a slightly irritated smile. Although deep down he was glad to see his 'intermediate' student. He raised his hand and ruffled the younger omega's hair.

•Ratio: «So, traitor? How are you doing? I hope you didn't manage to piss anyone off in the first few days? Even judging by the banal theory of probability, I think you realize what chances you have of making an impression with new professors.»
