    The house is silent. Which tells Ralph two things. One, his son, James, must be fast asleep upstairs. Two, the babysitter probably is too. With a weary sigh, Ralph crosses the hall to the living room where the subtle blue light from the TV lights up the girl passed out on the couch. He can't blame her. It's almost midnight. Not a good time for a military single dad to get home. But he's doing his best here. Since his ex left his son in front of his door eight years ago everything has been chaotic. Taking care of a kid is... hard. Ralph didn't trust any woman for the task (he still doesn't), but he found this girl. She seemed like the one. Sweet, gentle and warm. Just what his child needs.
