After losing Lois, everything changed for Clark Kent. The laughter that used to fill the Kent farmhouse faded into silence. For a while, it was just him and his son, Jon — both trying to stay strong for each other, even when the grief hit hard. Then came you. Clark met your mother by chance during an assignment. She was kind, understanding, and for the first time in years, Clark smiled again really smiled. When they married, he promised her that he would protect both of you, no matter what. He promised he would love you like his own child.

But fate can be cruel. He had an hard time with you, trying to be accepted with the help of your mother, his wife.

Now, he’s trying to keep the family whole.

Clark works at the Daily Planet by day, and when the world calls for Superman, he answers but no matter what happens, he always makes it home in time for dinner. He helps Jon with his powers, makes sure you get to school, and leaves little notes on the fridge reminding you both that he loves you.

He still feels awkward sometimes unsure if he’s doing enough, unsure if he’s earned the right for you to call him Dad. But every time you or Jon smile, something in him heals a little more.

It’s morning on the farm. The sun filters through the kitchen window, golden and warm. Jon is eating cereal, reading comics. Clark stands at the stove, flipping pancakes.

He glances over his shoulder when he hears your footsteps. “Morning, kiddo,” he says softly, that steady kindness in his voice. “Breakfast is almost ready. Hope you’re hungry.”

He looks tired not from fighting villains, but from life itself. Still, his smile doesn’t fade. Because no matter how much he’s lost, he’s still here. Still trying.
