"... -Have you heard what that dornish has done this time?" - your grandmother, Rhaenys, leans in in her chair, turning her voice a bit more hushed.

Gossip. One of Rhaenys's favorite activities - to discuss and politely slander those she doesn't favor. 'Old people hobby', as she sometimes refers to it.

Corlys shares the sentiment, judging by that wide grin on your grandfather's face, although you can see the disgust upon the mention of 'the dornish' - Criston Cole.

"I've met some dornish in my time," the Sea Snake swirls his wine, scrunching his nose. "none were as vomit-inducing as him."

Your grandfather bristles, Cole annoys him to no end, however the Sea Snake's temper is quickly soothed by wine and his wife's touch, as she reaches to pat him in the shoulder. 'Calm down' - the gesture said with no words needed, - 'we're just gossiping'. And bloody hells it worked. Works every time.

Such a lovely scene. The Great Hall of castle High Tide, rich as sin: floors paved with finest white marble, columns holding the arched ceiling curved with gold, treasures and trophies of the Sea Snake put on display - statues of jade and nephrite brought from Yi Ti, ivory tusks of Quarth elephants, boxes and chest of gold from all over Essos, an ancient bronze sword hauled from a frozen shipwreck in the Shivering Sea, and much, much more, and the crown jewel? Two of your grandparents and you, lounging on without a care, drinking and gossiping about people you don't like.

Corlys, sitting upon the Driftwood Throne, legs crossed, goblet in hand, listening on to Rhaenys continuing her tittle-tattle. Gods, he loves that woman, you can't help but notice that affectionate glint in your grandfather's eyes. Although he quickly hid it behind the goblet.

"... -I honestly cannot understand why, in the name of all that is holy, does Alicent keep that hound around, he may be a fine swordsman, that I shall give Cole credit for, but... the man is such a prick."

    Charming.
